A little of this, and some of that.

TGIF! It’s been a hectic week, but this hint of fall in the air has reinvigorated me and I’m looking forward to spending time outside this weekend, preferably on a patio sipping wine.  I’ve put together a few things to share with you that I’ve enjoyed lately, and a couple that I’m looking forward to trying!

Parks and Recollection (Podcast)

Parks and Recreation is a comfort show for me – I’ve seen every episode more times than I care to admit, I can put it on to fall asleep to at night and quote lines from it. It’s a show with so much humor and heart, and I was thrilled to have stumbled upon this podcast the day it launched (September 14). There’s only a few episodes out so far but I’m already hooked.  Hosted by Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) and Allen Yang (writer for the show, who also worked with Aziz Ansari on Master of None). They are covering each episode and all the behind-the-scenes info, and I am here for it! My only criticism is that Rob Lowe admits to never having watched any episodes from seasons 1-2 (He joined the cast at the end of season 2). Do better, Rob!

Kacey Musgraves Star Crossed (Album)

Kacey Musgraves is my ultimate girl crush – she’s talented, beautiful, and has such an effortless sound. If I was building a girl gang a la Taylor Swift, I would want her in it. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of her new album, and now I’m listening to it on repeat. Current favorite (it changes!) is the addictive melody and just good advice ‘Breadwinner’, and ‘Camera Roll’ is all too relatable.

Anine Bing Sweatshirt

Yes, it’s an outrageously priced sweatshirt. Do I still want it? Also, yes. Anine Bing feels like the brand effortlessly cool girls buy, and I can just envision an entirely different version of myself wearing it. The kind of person ahead of trends, who doesn’t care about them but definitely sets them. I’m not sure a single sweatshirt is capable of all this, but I think it’s worth a try.

Roy Kent Mug (sophiandlili on Instagram)

“He’s here, he’s there, he’s everyf*nwhere!” If you’re a fan of the show Ted Lasso, you’ve undoubtedly carved out a place in your heart for loveable curmudgeon Roy Kent. This adorable mug makes my morning coffee a little better, and reminds me to not dare settle for fine. Even if you’re not a Lasso fan, Jennifer Vallez makes the cutest illustrations for just about every relevant cultural issue, and is a great small business to support!

The Weekday Vegetarians by Jenny Rosenstrach (Cookbook)

I ordered this newly released vegetarian cookbook in an effort to eat a little less meat, after reading a feature on it over at Cup of Jo. I’d like to say it’s because I’m trying to do my small part to save the planet (global warming is real, you guys!), but it’s actually just because preparing meat when cooking has been really grossing me out lately. I love parsing through a new cookbook and can’t wait to try these recipes!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
